Members of the Region 5 Fall Forum are invited to gather in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 9-10, 2026, for an exciting weekend of professional development, networking, and regional business. Hosted by Kentucky Chapter 25, the forum promises valuable opportunities for right of way professionals from across the region to connect, share knowledge, and help shape the future of Region 5.
This year's forum features more than educational and networking opportunities. During the Saturday business meeting, Region 5 will conduct a special election to fill the vacant Region 5 Secretary/Treasurer position for the remainder of the 2026-2027 term. Members who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to participate, either by declaring their candidacy in advance or by running from the floor during the meeting. Currently, two candidates have announced their intentions to seek the position: Katrina (Tina) L. Breeding, SR/WA of Indiana Chapter 10 and Travis S. Carmack, SR/WA of Kentucky Chapter 25.
The Secretary/Treasurer role is an important leadership position within Region 5. Responsibilities include preparing meeting minutes, providing notice of regional meetings, supporting regional communications, and assisting with budget preparation and organizational leadership initiatives. Region officers work closely with chapter leaders and IRWA leadership to advance the association's goals and strengthen member engagement across the region.
In addition to the business meeting, attendees can look forward to a welcome reception at the Blue House Brewing Company on Friday evening and a memorable cruise aboard the historic Belle of Louisville Steamboat on Saturday night. These events offer an excellent opportunity to build relationships with fellow professionals while enjoying Louisville's unique hospitality.
Whether you are a longtime member or attending your first regional event, the Fall Forum is a great way to stay informed, expand your professional network, and become more engaged in the future of Region 5. Registration and sponsorship information are available through the Region 5 and Chapter 25 websites. Region leaders Gail Morton, SR/WA and David Griffith, SR/WA encourage members from across the region to attend and help make this year's forum a success.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Louisville this October for a productive and memorable Region 5 Fall Forum.
